Our History and Values

We have a long history of providing excellent care for the local community. We pride ourselves on providing individual eye care delivered by the best people using advanced equipment. We have a wide scope of products available to us and provide expert advice about the optimal optical solutions.

One of our core values is investing in the community. We partner with local charities and organisations through a monthly giving routine to causes that make a difference in the local community.

Lucy Forrest

BSc (Hons ) MCOptom

Having graduated with a BSc in optometry from Aston University, Lucy completed her professional training at Rabbetts Opticians in Portsmouth and qualified as an optometrist in 1990. She worked in a variety of private practices, and started working for Malcolm Smith in Drayton soon after qualifying, before working at his Leigh Park practice which she subsequently took over. She took over the practice in Drayton in 2004 when Malcolm retired.

Lucy has also always enjoyed hospital work, and spent 7 years spending a day a week at Great Ormond Street Hospital, working with babies and children in the cataract clinic. She has also had a long association with QA hospital, and continues to do occasional paediatric clinics there.

She lives in Emsworth with her husband and 2 teenage children. Away from work, she enjoys choral singing, walking and cycling, and is a keen cook.

Mohamedsarwar Jagani

Mohamedsarwar has a wealth of experience in optics, having graduated from Aston University in 2007. He has a passion for the latest technology in optics, and likes to keep on trend with his latest pair of spectacles

Abbas Moledina

Optometrist

Abbas is our home bred optometrist. He graduated from Aston University and completed his pre-registration training at Tombs and Allen Opticians in Gosport. He has special interests in acute eye care emergencies and is our tech expert.

Annmarie Hatcher

Dispensing Optician, FBDO

Annmarie is a qualified dispensing optician with many years of experience having worked at independent practices. She trained under Mr Rabbets and Lucy at Rabbets Opticians in Portsmouth. Annmarie is the new addition to our team and with her good humour and excellent people skills, puts our customers at ease. Our customers trust her knowledge and expertise.

Suneel Maqbool

Audiologist

Suneel has a wide variety of experience working with independent audiology both in the UK and Australia. Suneel has a passion and expertise for tinnitus management, and has a soft spoken demeanour, which is loved by the team and his clients.

Sam Hart

Manager

Sam has worked in optics for 10 years and has joined the team as the Store manager. Sam is currently training to qualify as a dispensing optician, and strives for nothing less than perfect for his store and customers.
